The Breast Cancer Walk is our local philanthropy. A previous advisor of ours lost her battle to breast cancer so we participate in her honor. This is an illness that affects many people, including some of our sisters' family members. We work closely with members of the community to help put on a successful and meaningful event. Some members run or walk in the 5K while others cheer and provide support along the way.
For our National philanthropy, we do an all male beauty pageant to support the Sigma Sigma Sigma Foundation. Members of various fraternities and athletic teams show off their best dressed selves, their hidden talents, and their great personalities! Members of other sororities are also involved by accompanying the men as escorts. In the end, one man is crowned Mr. Greek and one is crowned Mr. WIU. It is quite entertaining for everyone involved and an abundance of money is raised in the process!
Last fall, we added a Dodgeball Tournament to benefit the Foundation: Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive, & Donate! Fraternities and sororities created teams and competed against each other, and it was so much fun!
Recently, our National organization announced a new philanthropy partnership with the March of Dimes. We are so excited about this new partnership and are looking for new ways to benefit the March of Dimes. Sigma Serves Children!
